They also list individual grant applications by faculty members and academic departments. Also included with the collection is a manual for the Office of Research Administration and a grant application to the National Science Foundation requesting support for building its research program.

Drexel's Office of Research was established in 1958 as part of an effort to encourage faculty to pursue research. The office was responsible for helping faculty identify research opportunities, as well as administering sponsored research projects. In 1970, responsibility for research administration was transferred to the Office of Community Affairs and Government Relations.
